The update file works with both
Alteris BMS 2008 and Alteris SBE 2008.
Automated Version Checking
If your computer is connected to the internet, you can run the automated
version check to see if you are using the most recent update. Simply
select File, Version Check from the Alteris Main Menu. Once the
checking is complete, you will see a message that either says you are on
the most current build, or you will get a message telling you your build
number and what the latest build number is. When these builds are
different, it is time to install an update.
Installation Instructions
If your server is connected to the
internet, you can download updates from within your Alteris software.
Simply select File, Update from the Alteris Main Menu and select the first
option.
If your server is not connected to
the internet, you can download the update file by clicking the link below.
Be sure to save the file to the pos\pos2008\files folder. Once you
have downloaded the file, select File, Update from the Main Menu and
choose the second option to install a previously downloaded update to your
server.
This routine will automatically
upgrade all of your data files once the new update is installed.
Additional Workstations
To update additional workstations, from each of the other workstation(s), select File, Update
from the Alteris Main Menu. Choose the third option, update subsequent
workstation. This will install the maintenance release on this station and
will upgrade only the local workstation files.
